Competition: A Tribute to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

15" x 13"

What does it take to make an elite athlete? The path an athlete must follow to reach the pinnacle of the Olympics is convoluted, demanding; many fall aside along the way. It takes hard training to excel, but luck also intervenes. Furthermore many people and organizations have a presence in the life of an athlete, some for good, some counterproductive-- parents, ranking committees, judges, sports equipment manufacturers, and on and on.

And yet there’s order to the entire endeavor. Look closely at Competition. You will see a chaotic landscape, for sure, but the trends and action are all oriented in one direction, hopefully to carry the athlete to ultimate victory.
